Frequently Asked Questions
Kensho's jewellery is distinguished by its unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship. We craft all our pieces in Vermeil, a gold plating standard with a thick layer of gold for a luxurious and enduring appearance. We use 925 silver as the base metal, unlike many gold-plated and gold-filled options that often rely on cheap and low quality metals like brass. This choice guarantees superior quality, longevity, and exceptional durability, making your heirloom last a lifetime. Our handmade pieces are renowned for their substantial feel, offering a weightier and more enduring presence compared to cheaper metal alternatives. This not only enhances the overall aesthetic but also reflects our commitment to crafting pieces that are built to withstand the test of time. By choosing Kensho, you support a small business with a focus on slow fashion, aligning with our vision of sustainable and timeless style.
Our pieces are adorned with carefully handpicked natural gemstones, chosen with meticulous attention to quality. Each gemstone has a distinct shape and color that adds a unique beauty and significance to every single piece.
All our items are designed in London by our founder Mrigya Sharma. Our products are handcast by a small group of skilled artisans utilising a 5,500-year-old lost-wax technique. Each piece is crafted with intention and artistry to create an heirloom that serves as a companion on the path to inner discovery, echoing the unique experiences and insights of each wearer. Our dedication to craftsmanship ensures that each piece is a unique work of art, reflecting the expertise and passion of our artisans.

Unlike normal gold plating, our gold vermeil is plated in 2.5 microns of pure gold and is likely to last 5 times longer.
Gold Vermeil is the next best thing to solid gold, making it an excellent choice for jewellery. However, it’s important to note that it’s not waterproof. Unlike traditional gold-plated jewellery, we do not use any toxic chemicals to make our gold jewellery waterproof. Crafted with pure metals, our hypoallergenic pieces can tarnish with prolonged exposure to water or sweat. To maintain their beauty and prolong their lifespan, we recommend keeping your jewellery dry.
